now that we've found our home church, i'm on a marriage and family emailing list which i've thought annoying since the first one i received (sorry, no offense, also cause it's mass mailed). annoyed because it seemed like a cheesy, christian, self-help, type of mass email. this morning, it got me reading- maybe because it's one of mj's love languages and it's been a hot topic on my mind. here's the full article. it reminds me about the power of my words, good and bad, especially to those of us where words (of affirmation) is a main language of love. simple and obvious, mostly, but i seem to need reminding often. :P *my love language? whatever i'm lacking at the moment (or most of the above, although i don't think that's one of the choices)- this week: acts of service (helping w dishes, cleaning, cooking, etc.)

week 19: nursing covers

to start off our weekly countdown with baby #2 i'll introduce a baby related project i recently completed. i lent a mommy friend one of my favorite items while i nursed aiden. with this pregnancy moving right along, it encouraged me to make one (or two in this case) of my own (thanks to this tutorial) so mimi can keep one. i worked on this project many evenings after aiden's bedtime- it's not perfect, but for an amateur sewer, it's not too bad at a first attempt.

aiden's had some mild cold symptoms which i thought would get better by halloween- unfortunately, here we are in front of our home. he really didn't care much about mising out on trick or treating, he just wanted some mama & papa loving. happy trick or treating to the rest of y'all! and stay warm!

we're well into fall

it was too beautiful in front of the house not to step out and enjoy the leaves, breeze and air.

this past sunday we adventured through the d.c. metro and n.o.v.a to track down uncle peter with the whole family. it was pretty exciting to catch him in crystal city, last leg of the run before the finish. way to go (uncle) peter!

aiden enjoyed his 2nd birthday with some of his buddies this past friday at our home playdate. skyler (cutie pie), to the very left, blew out aiden's candles on hism 1st attempt, so here he is on his second attempt with a bit of help from his lady cousins. :)
